About JELFOR Timbers

Jelfor Timbers, operating from Traralgon in South East Victoria, is a manufacturer of quality treated Roundwood products.

Jelfor Timbers specialises in the processing of Radiata pine logs into treated posts and poles which are used widely in the agriculture, viticulture and building industries throughout Australia.

Treated timber is extensively used in Australia for all kinds of outdoor projects from garden edging to pergolas and countless other uses. It is well accepted as a great building material for all outdoor jobs. With a life span of up to 40 years, it is ideal for any in-ground use due to its exceptional moisture resistant qualities. A wide range of treated pine sawn timber is also sold to local builders, contractors and general handymen.

The company was founded by members of the Jellef family in 1984 and has since grown into the largest producer of treated pine Roundwood in South East Victoria. Jelfor Timbers is now proudly part of the AKD Softwoods group who are a fully integrated plantation forestry and timber processing company.

AKD is 100% Australian-owned and has a processing capacity of 680,000 cubic metres of saw log per annum, some of which is harvested from 8000 hectares of company owned and managed land, with the remainder sourced from plantations in the south-west region of Victoria and eastern South Australia.

The company's primary manufacturing site is based in Colac - the heart of one of Australia's most important sustainable timber production regions, with other sites located in Heywood and Geelong.

All treating and quality control managements are to Australian and International standards.
